Arizona Home Owners Beware of Mortgage Auditing Program Scam

Scam, Scam Scam, Everybody’s Gonna Know Your Name(s) AMT

A company operating out of American Fork UT with many aliases is mailing homeowners with a “Mortgage Auditing Program” that is a SCAM!   They send a letter with a heading Mortgage Auditing program, Division of Consumer Services, and they are advising that their records show the date of the last change to your mortgage, be it the original mortgage or a refinanced date.

They want to charge $249.00 to $299.00 for the audit and claim the average return is $1,497.32.

They state they will give a 100% refund in the advent no refund is available

Their M.O.

The company sends out notices to consumers stating “you may be owed a refund of several thousand dollars from your mortgage lender.”

For $249 the company performs a review of the payments you have made to your mortgage lender.

Consumers are also asked to sign up for a trial subscription of the business’s debt cancellation program. The business asks that the consumer to agree that after 30 days of using the program for free a monthly subscription fee of $49.95 will be charged.

Complaints received by the BBB allege that they don’t remember signing up for the debt cancellation program, refunds are not sent in a timely manner and slow customer service in resolving issues regarding the monthly fee or credits/refunds.
